PGAM–Spreading the Word

The Month of March is an important time for the Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling. Every year the FCCG participates in Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM). This event is a nationwide grass roots campaign aimed at educating the public about gambling addiction.

The FCCG reaches out to state agency’s, libraries, senior centers, treatment professionals, boys and girls clubs, colleges, drug courts and many more statewide organizations to provide them with PGAM materials for display, dissemination and educational purposes.

This years theme is “Financial Health” with a focus on rebuilding relationships, renewing hope, and restoring finances, all things that can become undone due to gambling addiction. We want people to know that help is available for those that need it and their lives can turn around for the better if they take the necessary steps towards recovery. Relationships can be Rebuilt, Finances can be Restored and Hope can be Renewed.

In addition to all of the programs and resources usually provided throughout the year, the Florida Council also has PGAM specific materials that are being sent out to all those interested in participating.

This campaign is vital in raising awareness about gambling addiction on a national level.

The FCCG welcomes anyone that would like to participate in educating the public during PGAM. You can contact us by emailing fccg@gamblinghelp.org, call us at 407-865-6200 or chat with us at www.gamblinghelp.org. All of our materials are free to Floridians.

Contact the FCCG today to receive materials that can help someone in your community!
